Homebrewing secondary fermentation question?
My batch of red lager has been sitting for 7 days in a carboy for secondary fermentation as noticed the activity was pretty dormant for most of the time in the air trap but on the 7th day its bubbling about once per minute and noticed foam on the top of the beer. Should I let it sit longer or bottle? If longer, how much longer?

Can I do my primary fermentation in a standard bottling bucket?
I was wondering if it would be possible to do my primary fermentation in a standard bottling bucket like this one williamsbrewing.com PRIMING TANK P149C66.cfm obviously i would put a lid and airlock on the bottling bucket. I would then transfer via bottling spigot to a 5 gallon glass carboy for secondary fermentation and then siphon back to bottling bucket for bottling. Thanks for your input.

Give me a time frame for this fermentation?
So i mixed two cans of grape juice concentrate with the same amount of water as concentrate... not nearly the amount of water required... Then I put In one cup of sugar... and shook it up well... then I put in 3 teaspoons of dry yeast... I put it in my basement where it is about room temperature or maybe a little colder... How long will it take to ferment I am redicleously not worried about taste I want the shortest point in time when i can Chug all of it and get plastered

Homebrew fermentation issue?
I just cooked up a batch of amber ale but I am having issues with the fermentation. After it cooled to 85 degrees I pitched the yeast and it took about 45 minutes for gases to start the airlock bubbling. The next 24 hours or so the fermentation was strong, actually pushing the foam through the airlock and then nothing. It's been about a day since it stopped and I don't know if it's done and ready to bottle or if something went wrong. The seals on the lid and airlock are tight so it's not gases escaping another way. Can anyone tell me what I should do?

Will a swing in temperature effect fermentation in my hooch?
im making hooch in a 2L pop bottle, its 3 days old and shes a brewing in a dark cupboard in my room, which is usually about 80f. last night it was so hot that i opened my window. and when i woke up it was like 68f. the bubbles in the bottle are at like a third of what they were when i went to bed.did the temperature swing kill the yeast? or just slow it down?

Where can I find a 4.5 liter fermentation jug online in Canada/US?
I have a book on home brewing and being from the UK all the recipes call for a 4.5 liter jug or demijohn. I've managed to fine a few used jugs locally, but have had no luck whatsoever finding anything other then the 3.7 Liter jugs of the like on the internet or that isn't overseas... The smaller batch sizes appeal to me because of room constraints and not wanting to have bottles all over the place for the secondary fermentation. thanks

Is it required to add a clearing agent to the mash when fermentation is finished, or is there some other way?
I heard that the mash could clear on its own if I left it alone a little bit longer. Any help or tips on how to clear my mash without buying the clearing agent would be great, thanks.by the way, I'm planning to distill spirit from the mash
